Brenda K. Jones, CEO
Brenda Jones is a self proclaimed army brat who moved nine times with her family before she was in eighth grade. The eighth grade landed her in Carlsbad, New Mexico where she attended Eisenhower Middle School and started making life-long friends. She graduated from Carlsbad high school in 1972. She then went to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces and majored in Biology. She returned to Carlsbad and attended ENMU and received her nursing license at the age of 20.
Brenda married Steve Jones and started her nursing career in the ER at St. Francis Hospital. She left the ER in 1977 to move into the newly built hospital on Pierce Street. She worked in the medical unit and soon was the Director of a 56-bed medical unit.
In 1984 Jones successfully opened and managed a home care and hospice for the local hospital, all while earning her Bachelors in Hospital Administration in 1986. In 1998, the hospital discontinued the Home Care and Hospice program and Jones began the Home Care Connection and Hospice Services, Inc.
Jones has owned and operated the Home Care Connection and Hospice since 1999, but has been a facilitator for home care since 1984. While Jones was working full time, she and Steve raised three wonderful children. The Home Care Connection is truly a family business. Her daughter Ashley is the Assistant Administrator and Marketing Director. Brenda's son Chris is the District Manager.
Jones has had many successes in life, including dinner with President George W. Bush, helping to build a hospital, and giving medical care in the Sierra Madres in Mexico. Jones recently received her Masters in Hospital Administration. Jones says her nursing memories are too many to mention, but her proudest accomplishment in her career is that the Eddy County community places their families in her hands when they need home care or hospice.
Jones says her nursing degree has taken her places she never could have imagined. She is currently writing a book about her nursing adventures in home health.
