Physical Therapy
The Home Care Connection & Hospice has a full-time, on-staff Physical Therapist. He is available to work around the patient's schedule more often since he is on staff. Darrel Thompson has earned his PhD in Physical Therapy and is proud to be called Dr. Darrel.

He specializes in Geriatric Therapy but has great knowledge in many other Physical Therapy fields.
Physical Therapy focuses on regaining and maintaining strength throughout the entire body. Physical Therapy works on rehabilitating the patient from work related injuries, stroke, cardiac, surgeries, and many more.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is focusing on regaining or maintaining the highest level of independence in all aspects of life. Home Care Connection and Hospice Occupational Therapy assists in helping patients who have had illnesses or injuries to regain independence in daily living skills such as dressing, bathing, safety in your home, light cooking, and light house cleaning as well as overall strengthening of upper body.

Common Conditions that OT can treat:
Knee Replacements
Hip Fracture or Replacement
Arthritis
Spinal Fractures or Surgeries
Amputations
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Stroke
Brain Injury
Cerebral Palsy
Parkinson’s Disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Decreased Short Term Memory Skills
Low vision

Massage Therapy
The Home Care Connection and Hospice, offers to their Hospice patients a Licensed Massage Therapist to come into their home once a week for 30 minutes to relieve pain and increase circulation for the patient.

The Home Care Connection and Hospice also offers the Massage Therapists to the patient’s primary caregiver once a month. At the Home Care Connection, we feel that the caregiver is as much a part of our care as the patient and needs special treatment. Massage helps the caregiver with stress release and also gives them a moment alone to gather their thoughts, rest, or even to grieve.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is much more than helping a patient regain their strength and their ability to speak. It also helps patients with their swallowing and their feeding abilities. Speech therapy is especially effective in rehabilitating stroke patients.
